Our mission is to educate the community, increase awareness and raise funds to support victims of domestic violence and their children, providing resources to help them rebuild their lives and support them in their journeys to recovery. PLEASE NOTE: Now that the foundation has received its official 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS, donations will no longer benefit Christy, as she has bravely chosen to remain a member of the board of directors and continue the fight against domestic violence. 42-year-old mother-of-two Christy Sims was just two weeks away from receiving her Master’s degree in counseling when she was assaulted by her boyfriend with industrial grade sulfuric acid. She was burned over 20% of her body and nearly died.
Christy spent two months in a coma and has endured multiple reconstructive surgeries. The Christy Sims Foundation was founded by Christy and a group of supporters to help in the fight against domestic violence.
Ideally, one day there will not be any domestic violence victims who need our support, but until that day comes, we will continue to do everything we can to help the—and to stop abuse before it begins.
Our vision is to become Georgia's most renowned foundation in support of domestic violence victims, serving as the state's primary resource for recovery by providing education, programming, grants and other resources in support of our mission.
No financial donation is too small, and your donations are tax-deductible. With every penny, you will help victims of domestic violence ensure they always have someone to turn to.Donate Today
